BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for mechanical inspector to work for our client based in Lambeth.
The successful candidate is required to work on projects from inception to completion, to achieve client and business unit project aims and objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties as a Mechanical inspector:
-Undertake duties required to act as Clerk of Works on heating, hot water and potable cold-water projects.
- Contractor supervision
-Inspection of work
-Day-day feed back to the Project Team
-Provision of progress and other reports to Project Team
-Assist in verification of payment against completion
-Witnessing of commissioning and other testing
-To have good observational and investigation skills; and the ability to carry out inspections, at times outside normal core working hours.
-Assist in all relevant duties in accordance with Construction Design and management (CDM) Regulations.
-Partake in site meetings, assisting the Project Team in delivery of projects to programme.
-To ensure any defects or deviations from the agreed specifications and/or working practices are brought to the attention of the Project Team to facilitate prompt resolution
- Meet deadlines
-To participate in and contribute with the Project Team in regular performance management meetings.
-To ensure the requirements of the service is met before time‑off is taken and to be available to cover for absent staff.
-To be aware of Health and Safety at Work Act and its responsibilities, both in the workplace and associated with professional duties, and to ensure good practice and compliance within areas of responsibility.
-Carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post with due regard to the client’s equal opportunity, anti-racist and anti-sexist policies and undergo such training as may be required by these policies.
-To create a working environment where everyone feels safe, valued and motivated in accordance with the client’s policies and procedures with reference to equality and diversity.
-To take ownership and be individually responsible for your own work, by following the client’s procedures for the delivery of the service.
Experience, Knowledge skills & abilities required:
- A working knowledge of computer software applications – at least Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required.
- A working knowledge of manual technical/architectural drawing is desirable.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in domestic dwellings is essential.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Regulations and legislation is essential.
- Proven suitable experience and knowledge working as inspector on mechanical installations or equivalent.
- Good team worker
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good communicating in writing
- Computer literate, including word & excel spreadsheets
- Valid driver’s licence
- 3 years’ work reference
- Weekly pay
- Full time can be offered to the right candidates
- Working hours: 09:00am to 17:00pm
