BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced QSW – Family Safeguarding (Social and Healthcare Qualified) in a temporary to permanent position for our client in West Sussex County.

The successful candidate should be a proactive and hardworking individual with prior experience within a role.

About the job and Family Safeguarding:

You will act as a professional who practices effectively with high quality judgement, in situations of complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework. Manage caseloads with confidence and independence and are recognised as a source of reliable knowledge and advice and use your initiative to broaden your expertise. You will support case conferences and produce quality assessments, taking shared responsibility and be accountable for your professional development. You will support equality and diversity and respect anyone working for or in contact with WSCC.

About the Team:

The FSP North teamed Family Safeguarding’s are in Horsham. The Horsham teams are a close knit, who work well together to strive for the best outcomes for children. The office is shared with colleagues from different parts of WSCC, including the Police, which helps with a joint agency approach to our work.

We are close to local shops. There is a small café in the building, serving light snacks and drinks and free car parking for staff use.

Other children’s service teams, including the fostering team are in Horsham, which aids the cross-cutting work that is often required of us and allows for collaboration and a great working environment.

The FSP teams work with children subject to CIN and CP protection plans and those children that enter the court arena. It is a busy and dynamic team with 6 practice teams and two academies. The covered area is rural in parts and whilst delightfully picturesque it can be hard to access by public transport, so a driving licences in necessary.

We have an open and positive team culture and frequently have team times which includes regulars’ team meetings, group meetings and monthly service meetings. We would love you to come and work with one of our vibrant and energetic teams.

During the pandemic we have worked flexibly to promote staff wellbeing, which has involved more home working and we have worked hard to ensure that staff feel that they always have good support and access to a manager.
