BBS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Support Worker in a temp position for our client. The successful candidate should be a proactive and hardworking individual with prior experience within a role.
Job Purpose for a support worker
Provide high standards of care and support for service users across EMH care & support Group, in line with care and support plans and compliant with CQC Regulations and the EMH care & support Group policies and procedures.
Promote individual rights and personal dignity for service users and provide them with every opportunity for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual development.
Provide the funded hours of support for everyone in line with their individual support plan.
Be flexible where and to whom you provide support as directed by the line manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities for a support worker
Support service users in accordance with their individual support plan which could include.
Develop service user’s contacts with the local community enabling them to integrate and access local facilities of their choice.
Provide care and support for service users, encouraging them to do as much as possible for themselves to develop and maintain their independence and physical ability.
Ensure a healthy, safe, and clean environment for service users in their home, encouraging their involvement in achieving this.
Monitor each service user’s individual health, with their involvement, reporting any concerns to the team leader.
Encourage service users to maintain an appropriate and healthy diet, promote choice and encourage their involvement in food preparation.
Support service users to ensure that food and household items are correctly purchased and stored in line with Health and Safety requirements.
Support service users to maintain family contact and involvement.
Enable service users to access a wide range of stimulating and creative activities using local facilities of their choice.
Support service users to engage in their chosen cultural, religious, or spiritual practices.
Assist service users in taking prescribed medication as directed in their individual support plan.
Provide written reports on service user’s progress and organise/attend reviews with their involvement.
Accompany service users on holidays/social outings/activities of their choice to provide care and support.
Ensure the safe storage of medication according to drug administration procedures.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to service users.
Report all accidents/incidents, concerns, and complaints to the line manager.
Complete records as identified i.e., Financial/Maintenance/Health and Safety/Fire/Medication. (This includes daily financial audit checks where applicable.)
Work flexibly to always maintain required levels of support across the emh care & support Group.
Document relevant information in care and support plans and use communication tools appropriately.
To carry out any other roles and responsibilities commensurate with the post.

You must have an existing DBS
